Intro
Packaging design for a coffee brand
A paint manufacturer, TALATU, asked us to create branded merchandise. Instead of another logo tote bag, we developed a standalone product—useful, collectible, and instantly recognisable. Starting with the brand’s iconic paint can, we changed what was inside. That’s how the coffee can came to life. The idea was natural: ground coffee shares the loose, granular texture of powdered paint, while coffee is part of a daily ritual—making it merchandise people would genuinely use. Using TALATU’s signature palette, we created three scenes: a swimmer at sea on the blue can, a golf course on the green one, and a skydiver against a pink sunset. In each design, colour leads the story and sets the mood. Each can contains drip coffee by The Welder Catherine. Once empty, it can be reused as a planter, storage container, drum, or even a camera obscura. The project won silver at the G8 Creative Industries Festival in the "Reformist Packaging" category.
